Local Place Plan Training

In Collaboration with Community Councils Scotland and Place at the Table

This free six-week training series, provided rural and island Community Councils with the knowledge and tools to develop Local Place Plans. The sessions covered key aspects of Local Place Plans, from understanding their purpose and process to project management, community engagement, data processing, and aligning with the National Planning Framework 4.

Participants gained practical insights into:

  • The role and impact of Local Place Plans

  • Key steps in planning and executing an LPP

  • Strategies for effective community engagement

  • Best practices for managing and analysing collected data

  • Aligning Local Place Plans with statutory frameworks

The course featured expert-led sessions every Wednesday from 12 February to 19 March 2025, equipping Community Councils with the skills and resources needed to create impactful Local Place Plans for their communities. Recordings of the sessions are available upon request.
