We will be kicking off A131’s lecture series on October 27th at 6.30pm (UK time) as part of their 2021/2022 lecture series!
A131’s lecture series ‘The Fabric Between: Architecture Without Buildings’ aims to explore unusual briefs that challenge the idea of what is typically considered architecture, with a focus on liminal spaces and their impact on the surrounding environment.
Tune in to hear more about what we have been up to, what our plans, hopes and dreams are for future!
The way we live is changing, we need to un-learn and re-imagine our built environment. Could a car park near you be used as an allotment space instead?
For the Architecture Fringe 2021 we have mapped out spaces around the city that need some re-imagining. So, if you needed an excuse to get out for a walk today - here it is!
Download a copy of our re-imagination treasure map and take a wander round the streets of Edinburgh, get your imagination caps on and start to re-imagine what these spaces could transform into. If you find yourself with lots of ideas, head to our how to page to get your ideas published on our online gallery.
If the weather is a bit miserable or you're further afield, check out our online gallery of Edinburgh's re-imagined spaces.
Imagine If displayed a print based on our longlisted entry for the RIBA Home of 2030 competition which demonstrates our hopes for future housing schemes.
We received this years ‘RSA medal for Architecture: Medal for The Best Work by a Young Architect’ which we are super thrilled about.
The exhibition was hosted online on rsaannualexhibition.org
We really enjoyed running a guest workshop with the 2nd year architecture students at ESALA.
Playing the ‘game’ we had designed for the ArchiFringe exhibition helped give an introduction their ‘Productive City’ design unit which was focusing on alternative approaches to housing solutions in sites in Edinburgh.
Lots of interesting conversations and we look forward to seeing all the creative ideas in the future.
Thanks to Giorgio Ponzo for inviting us!
Imagine If… we could improve housing for everyone…
Ellie swung down to Nottingham on Thursday to spread the word about the benefits of sharing. She presented findings from our exhibition at the RIBA Research Matters conference at Nottingham Uni. There were great ideas shared from some very inspiring people.
